The planning application decision process
All personal data held is processed in accordance with Data Protection Law. For more information please see our privacy policy on our website.
If you have never submitted a planning application before, this process flow will provide you with a step by step guide.
The Decision
Planning applications can be approved (with or without conditions) or refused. Reasons will be given for the decision, and if applicable, for any conditions that are attached.
You (or your agent) will be told by email or by post of the decision. A copy of the decision will also be held under the planning application reference.
Who will make the decision ?
Scheme of Delegation
Householder and minor applications are normally dealt with by the Head of Housing and Planning Services and the planning officers under a scheme of delegated authority.
Applications for major development proposals are decided by the Council's Planning Committee. Applications for minor development may also be called to the Committee at the request of the Local ward Councillor or Head of Planning Services.
To view any decisions, click here to search under the planning reference number or the address to view the decision notice. (please note if searching by address, you must changed the date range as well).
Once a decision has been made the agent for the applicant (or the applicant where no agent used) will be emailed or posted the decision notice.
If you are an applicant and you have not received confirmation of a decision you should initially contact your appointed agent.
If you are an agent (or applicant without an appointed agent) and have not received a decision notice and the decision has been made, please contact the planning officer who had dealt with the application.
Please note: Following your planning approval - you may now need Building Regulations. Please contact South Worcestershire Building Control for further guidance. Tel: 01684 862223 (Mon-Fri 9-5) or email:
