Wychavon at the movies

Film fans will be able to enjoy a selection of movies as the hugely popular free outdoor cinema events return to the area.

Everybody is invited to the screenings, funded by Wychavon for the past five years, and are encouraged to bring along picnic blankets, camping chairs, a picnic, or enjoy food at the many local eateries.

The outdoor cinema experiences are available across the district in Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Pershore, Broadway and at the new Amphitheatre at The Lenches.

All showings, except in Pershore, will start in the evening to make sure it is dark enough for the projection to be visible. Pershore’s outdoor cinema experience is in collaboration with the Pershore Plum Festival, there will be multiple films shown throughout the daytime on a LED screen.

Steve Knight, Place Projects Manager at Wychavon District Council, said: “We know that people look forward to these open-air cinematic experiences – it’s great to have a free experience to enjoy with family and friends. We want people to enjoy the local area and I hope that people may support local by buying some food and drinks from independent businesses in the area.”

Residents are urged to follow Vale and Spa on Facebook or check Vale and Spa’s website, as the events are dependent on the weather.
