An Evesham jeweller is looking to a sparkling future with support from Wychavon.
Wedstones has received £1,000 from the Wychavon Growth Grant scheme, which supports businesses trading for more than 12 months in taking the next step in their development.
The family-run business specialises in wedding, engagement, and eternity rings and other fine jewellery with an emphasis on personal service.
Wychavon’s grant has been used to help buy a polishing machine, which allows more work to be carried out on-site, reducing outsourcing and providing a more efficient service to the customer. It is also hoped the equipment will allow the company to employ a trainee goldsmith in the near future.
Wedstones was born seven years ago from a chance conversation while driving down the motorway. The idea was to create a company dedicated to providing high-quality rings and jewellery tailored to the specific needs of the customer.
They offer a choice of more than 400 different diamond rings in 11 different shapes and bands, made of white gold, platinum, yellow gold, or rose gold. Customers can also take advantage of their bespoke design service with no upfront fee and no obligation to buy.
All pieces are manufactured in the UK, diamonds are ethically sourced and packaging is eco-friendly.
Wedstones’ reputation is growing fast, with more than 100 five-star ratings on various review sites and customers travelling across the country to take advantage of their service.
Leon Rhodes, Director and founder of Wedstones with more than a decade of experience in the jewellery industry, said: “We know jewellery is more than just a fashion accessory but is a very personal statement by the person who is wearing it. That’s why we take the time to make sure our customers have all the information they need to make the right decision for them. Our investment, supported by the growth grant from Wychavon, means we can now offer our customers an even more personal and tailored service.”
Cllr Ricard Morris, Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism, said: “Growing our economy is a priority for Wychavon and small businesses like Wedstones are the backbone of that growth. That’s why I am delighted we can offer support like this, which helps our small businesses to unlock their future potential and take advantage of new opportunities.”
